Chest Physiotherapy

Advanced Airway Clearance & Lung Expansion Therapy

Chest Physiotherapy (CPT) is a specialized physiotherapy treatment used to help clear mucus and secretions from the lungs and improve breathing efficiency. The treatment combines breathing exercises, airway clearance techniques, positioning, percussion, vibration, and coughing methods to improve lung expansion and respiratory function.

Chest Physiotherapy is a respiratory treatment technique designed to assist in the removal of secretions from the airways and improve ventilation within the lungs. The treatment helps clear mucus from the lungs, improve airway ventilation, increase oxygen exchange, reduce breathing effort, improve lung expansion, enhance respiratory efficiency, and prevent lung infections and complications.

  • Improves breathing efficiency
  • Helps remove mucus and secretions
  • Enhances lung expansion
  • Improves oxygenation
  • Reduces airway obstruction
  • Decreases work of breathing
  • Improves lung compliance
  • Helps prevent respiratory infections
  • Supports recovery after surgery
  • Improves exercise tolerance

1. Breathing Exercises: Focused breathing techniques used to improve lung expansion and breathing control. Common techniques include Diaphragmatic Breathing, Pursed Lip Breathing, Segmental Breathing, Incentive Spirometry, and Glossopharyngeal Breathing.

2. Airway Clearance Techniques: Techniques used to mobilize and remove secretions from the lungs, including Postural Drainage, Percussion, Vibration, Cough Training, Suctioning, and Positive Expiratory Pressure (PEP).
