Myofascial Release (MFR)

Advanced Hands-On Therapy for Pain Relief & Soft Tissue Mobility

Myofascial Release (MFR) is an advanced hands-on physiotherapy technique used to reduce muscle tightness, improve mobility, and relieve pain caused by restrictions within the fascia and soft tissues. The treatment involves applying gentle sustained pressure to the myofascial connective tissues to release tension, restore movement, and improve overall tissue function.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a specialized soft tissue therapy that targets the fascia - a connective tissue network surrounding muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and organs. When fascia becomes tight or restricted due to injury, stress, inflammation, surgery, or poor posture, it can create pain, stiffness, and movement dysfunction. MFR helps reduce fascial tightness, release trigger points, improve circulation, decrease muscle tension, restore tissue mobility, improve flexibility, and reduce pain and stiffness.

  • Reduces chronic muscle pain
  • Improves flexibility and mobility
  • Releases trigger points
  • Decreases muscle tightness
  • Improves posture and movement patterns
  • Enhances blood circulation
  • Reduces fascial restrictions
  • Improves soft tissue healing
  • Helps reduce stress and muscle tension
  • Supports sports rehabilitation and recovery

1. Direct Myofascial Release: Applies sustained pressure directly into restricted fascia. Best for chronic muscle tightness, deep fascial restrictions, scar tissue adhesions, and limited mobility.

2. Indirect Myofascial Release: Uses gentle stretching techniques to encourage natural tissue relaxation. Best for sensitive tissues, painful conditions, acute muscle guarding, and relaxation/mobility improvement.
