Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Advanced Minimally Invasive Treatment for Chronic Pain Relief

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is an advanced minimally invasive pain management procedure that uses controlled radiofrequency energy (heat) to target pain-transmitting nerves and reduce chronic pain. The treatment works by interrupting pain signals from specific nerves, helping improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and restore functional activity without major surgery.

Radiofrequency Ablation uses controlled radiofrequency heat energy that is delivered through a specialized needle or probe placed near the targeted nerve. This energy helps interrupt pain signals, reduce nerve sensitivity, decrease chronic pain, reduce muscle guarding and spasm, improve mobility and functional movement, and support rehabilitation and recovery.

  • Reduces chronic pain
  • Improves mobility and functional activity
  • Minimally invasive treatment option
  • Non-surgical pain management
  • Long-lasting pain relief
  • Reduces muscle spasm and stiffness
  • Helps improve rehabilitation outcomes
  • Reduces dependency on pain medications
  • Faster recovery compared to surgery
  • Can be repeated if necessary

1. Continuous Radiofrequency Ablation (Conventional RFA): Uses continuous high-frequency current to create controlled thermal lesioning of the nerve. Best for chronic low back pain and cervical facet joint pain.

2. Pulsed Radiofrequency (PRF): Uses short bursts of energy at lower temperatures. Best for neuropathic pain, sensitive nerve conditions, pain control without nerve destruction, and chronic nerve-related pain.

3. Cooled Radiofrequency Ablation: Uses internally cooled probes to create a larger treatment zone. Best for knee osteoarthritis pain, sacroiliac joint pain, and larger pain-generating regions.

4. Bipolar Radiofrequency Ablation: Uses two active electrodes to create focused lesions. Best for precision pain procedures, complex pain patterns, and selected spinal pain conditions.

  • Chronic Low Back Pain
  • Cervical Facet Joint Pain
  • Sacroiliac Joint Pain
  • Knee Osteoarthritis Pain
  • Shoulder Joint Pain
  • Hip Joint Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Occipital Neuralgia
  • Intercal Neuralgia
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia
  • Post-Surgical Nerve Pain
  • Chronic Spine Pain Syndromes
  • Nerve-Related Pain Conditions
  • Selected Pelvic Pain Conditions

Yes. Radiofrequency Ablation is considered safe when performed by trained specialists using sterile techniques and imaging guidance. However, it may not be recommended for:

  • Active infections
  • Uncontrolled bleeding disorders
  • Pregnancy
  • Severe uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension
  • Certain implanted electrical devices
  • Unclear pain diagnosis
  • Inability to tolerate the procedure safely
