TENS Therapy
Advanced Electrical Stimulation for Pain Relief & RecoveryTENS Therapy (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a safe and non-invasive physiotherapy treatment used to reduce pain, relax muscles, and support rehabilitation. The treatment works by delivering gentle electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the skin. These impulses help block pain signals, stimulate sensory nerves, and promote natural pain relief.
TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. It is a form of electrotherapy that uses low-voltage electrical currents to stimulate nerves and reduce pain perception. Small adhesive electrodes are placed over the affected area, allowing controlled electrical impulses to pass through the skin.
TENS Therapy helps reduce pain signals reaching the brain, relax muscles, improve circulation, reduce muscle spasm, and promote natural pain relief. The treatment is painless, drug-free, and non-surgical.
1. Conventional TENS (High Frequency): Uses low intensity, high frequency stimulation. Best for acute pain, general pain relief, and muscle relaxation. Session is usually around 20-30 minutes.
2. Acupuncture-Like TENS (Low Frequency): Uses high intensity, low frequency stimulation. Best for chronic pain, muscle tightness, and trigger point pain.
3. Brief Intense TENS: Uses high intensity, high frequency stimulation. Best for short-term pain relief, and pain before procedures or exercise. Session duration is usually less than 5 minutes.
